The three teams which dominated the previous season, minus Chelsea. Tottenham finished fourth last season while Chelsea was third.
Manchester United is Fourth This Time
Manchester United is predicted to finish fourth this time, with Arsenal and Chelsea right behind them in fifth and sixth place. Given how United finished sixth last time they played, then this is an improvement. Arsenal is in the same position and Chelsea has moved down two slots. The Wolves, who finished seventh, are moved to the ninth position in the predictions. These just below top tier teams will be fiercely battling for their positions, much more than the top 3, more likely. These matches will be more interesting, if the predictions are correct.
Evidence is Often to the Contrary of Predictions
When Norwich played Liverpool, they lost 4 to 1. Even though their victory is seen as something big, it is to be expected. However, other experts suggest that Liverpool’s gameplay wasn’t that good, nowhere near the second place. Norwich also wasn’t apparently a 19th place team, according to the opinion of most people watching that match. The following weeks will show us a better picture of which team is actually going to end in their predicted rank.
Whether a certain team finishes in their predicted rank remains to be seen. It is far too early in the season for anyone to be able to clearly predict the exact rankings of the teams in the Premier League. While we might get close, it is definitely a long shot, literally.
